Jan. 28 at the Marriott in Dublin. SCCA members can be very proud of two youth, Rachel Linder who represented us very well in the Queen Competition and Brandon Klehm who received a Tagged for greatness scholarship! Additionally after several years of being “one of the top three” this year SCCA was named “Outstanding County Affiliate”!- What an awesome job Stark County producers!

Cattlemen’s Association is now taking applications for their 2012 Stark Co. Beef Queen. The contest is open to girls who are between 16 & 20 years of age as of, and including, January 1, 2012. Applicants must be Stark Co. residents who live on a farm where cattle or beef are produced, or whose parents derive an income from cattle or beef production, or have a 4-H or FFA beef project. Some of the Queen’s duties include event appearances, volunteer opportunities, and other beef industry promotional activities. For complete application details please contact the Stark Co. Cattlemen’s Association is now taking applications for their 2011 Stark Co. College Scholarship awards. Awards will be given in two categories:

Distinguished Youth Beef Awards – An award of $1,000 each to two (2) individuals who have excelled in the beef industry and plan to pursue a post high school education in any field of study.

Post Graduate Scholarship – An award of $1,000, given to one (1) Stark Co. student taking advanced studies (Masters, PhD., or Dr. of Veterinary Medicine ) in food, agriculture, or environmental sciences.

Application for each of these scholarships is open to any Stark County youth who has exhibited a Beef related project (Market Steer, Beef Breeding, Beef and/or Dairy Beef Feeder, Veal) for a minimum of 3 years at the Stark County Fair.
