Join the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association for a series of excellent farm tours and great speakers.

Farm Tours will include:

Burgett Angus Farm

Dr. Keith Burgett and sons Phillip and Bryan operate this outstanding Black and Red Angus seedstock operation of 280 cow-calf pairs. 80% of the herd is bred AI using estrous synchronization. The herd has an overall conception rate of 96%.

Shamrock Vale Farms

Earl and Nedra McKarns and son Dan operate Ohio’s most outstanding forage-based beef operation. The Angus seedstock operation of 170 cow-calf pairs in managed in a complete forage system designed for year-round managed grazing.

Summitcrest Farms

Summitcrest farms is a family-owned Angus genetics operation with four ranches in three states. The operation is listed by NCBA as one of the ten largest seedstock producers in the United States, with a herd of 535 cows on the Ohio farm.

Green Haven Farm

The Rusty and Lisa Grubbs Family operate this commercial cattle operation on an Ohio Century Farm which has been in the Grubbs Family for five generations. The 70 cow-calf pairs are raised in a 120 acre managed grazing system.

John McKarns

John McKarns runs 200 brood cows in a grass-based system with outstanding facilities and a host of conservation projects including water systems, heavy use pads, and grassed waterways.

Great Facilities

Located in Carrollton, the headquarters hotel is a new, full-service Days Inn Hotel with well appointed rooms and a swimming pool.

Roundup participants may also choose to stay at Atwood Lake Resort and Conference Center on beautiful Atwood Lake, 10 miles south of Carrollton.

Friday evening’s program will feature top-notch speakers who inspire beef producers towards greater efficiency and profitability.
